is CLOSING!
It has been a truly wonderful 12 months with all
of you, and I am so grateful for all your support, and have had such a truly
wonderful time getting to know you all. I’ve met some truly wonderful people
and pages. (we almost hit 1500 as well)
I was lucky enough to be able to donate to so
many charity auctions and showcases, and when a family home invaded, was able
to send their daughter a large parcel with lots of free hair accessories and
put a smile on their faces. It is amazing being able to help people, and every
one of you have helped me be able to do this and it is just amazing. Thank you
all from the bottom of my heart!
I hate giving sad news, but at the same time, I get to give some exciting news
as well.
You ready?
Ok, we aren't really closing, but we are
MOVING!
While It’s a Girl Thing is closing down, Ami-KayBoutique will be taking its place.
Yeah, I can’t give up altogether. I have enjoyed the last 12 months too much to do that. Hehe!

The reason for this is that my current page name
does not seem to represent the true reason for my hobby at all. I began making
hair accessories when my daughter was only a toddler. She was very ill and it
is a true miracle she is still here with us today (One day I shall share her
story with you). But my mother was the one who got me started. She had
purchased a lot of craft supplies and we just tinkered around for a few years
making things for my little girl.
After a while I stopped to concentrate on my poetry more, but always missed crafting. So back in 2010, I started again. I was loving it and so was my daughter. Then after a push from friends, I opened a page in 2012 and began selling hair accessories. It was a lot of hard work, but it was so much fun!
Towards the last part of the year, I wanted my page to represent why I began and the name, Ami-Kay sprang to mind. I then fell in love with the name as well. Ami from my daughter, Amity, and Kay from my mother Kathleen. It just felt right and as though it represented the true meaning behind my passion for craft. So over the last month decided I wanted to start again, and have a name that meant so much more than just the name of my page.
